How often should I get my piano tuned?

For a normal home piano, it’s best to have your piano tuned at least once or twice a year. This allows me to also assess the piano for routine maintenance and to allow the piano’s string tension to remain stable, allowing for increased tuning stability.

Below are some additional tuning recommendations:

Churches that use pianos every week:

-Once per quarter is advised however some churches request that I tune their pianos once a month if they have multiple services per week.

Music Venues/Concerts:

-Tuning before every concert’s sound check. It is also common to have a touch-up-tuning after sound check, before doors open to the public, if the artist requests it.

Home Piano

-Once or twice per year. Twice per year is ideal due to humidity and temperature changes, though once per year is absolutely fine.
